De La Hoya to fight Mayweather…

De La Hoya to fight Mayweather. The fight every boxing fan wants to see is taking place on May 5th, reports are that it is at the MGM in Las Vegas(although the Staples Centre is still bidding). Mayweather is unbeaten in 37 fights and has won the world title at 4 weights. Oscar is a 6 weight winner and the only one in the sports history. This could be the “Fight of The Century”
De La Hoya has indicated this may not be his last fight, much must depend on the outcome.

Takaloo Pops Down……

Takaloo Poped down with his trainer yesterday for some Everlast Pro Sparring Gloves and the Gel Underwraps. Takaloo is going to take on Michael Jennings and we will be posting details on the fight here soon. Takaloo is feeling confident and looked in good shape allready, fighting a strong fighter like Jenning should suit him a bit more than the defensive Eamon in his last outing. Takaloo want’s to be fighting more than once a year and is feeling 100% for this outing, should be a good matchup, we can’t wait to see!
Both items that Takaloo bought are available to buy online at www.Sugarrays.co.uk

Haye Lands the Hayemaker

David Haye beat Fragomeni last night in a great fight. David has been itching to fight Fragomeni for shattering his dream of an Olympic Gold when he beat him in a qualifier and in Davids mind held back his career(Olympic gold makes for a big contract, just ask Khan).

In fairness Haye was a boy then and Fragomeni a Man but make no mistake Haye was the bigger man last night. Every punch seemed to have hurting power in it and in fairness to Fragomeni he kept coming forward and came to fight.

David had the best round of his career in the 6th, only to suffer a horrible cut in the 7th this spurred on Fragomeni and going into the 9th round terrority that David had only been into once before. The 6th round and the ones before were becoming a distance memory.

The advice in the corner was stay away and win the bout and no one would be able to blame David in the biggest fight of his career, the European belt on the line and the final eliminater for the WBC belt with O’Bell, David ranked 2nd and Fragomeni 3rd.

David came out to fight and a sickening blow to Fragomeni body shock him, he brought his elbows down to defend and David attacked the head. His corner stopped the fight after a number of unanswered blows and slumping down by the ropes, he made the 10 count but looked for help to the corner and they did.

David looked fit, strong and I believe he can win the WBC belt on this display before moving up and his talents at Heavyweight will ensure a Golden future, he make no secret of his struggle to make the weight, this drains him and affects his reflexes and strength, at Heavyweight he will be a good size, strong and carry up his punching ability, having grown naturally to the weight he will of kept his speed. The haymaker will be more than a match in the heavyweight division at worst win a Title at best unify the Division like Lennox, people question his stamina but weight drain has a massive affect and he seemed much fitter on Friday, any way it only takes one Hayemaker to finish it!
