NEW Commonwealth light-welterweight champ Ajose Olusegun has set his sights on a world title shot at Junior Witter or Ricky Hatton. Unbeaten Olusegun took the title with a clear points victory over Gary Read at Crystal Palace.

The unbeaten 27-year-old London based said
“I am desperate to fight the best, but the best don’t want to fight me. I need big fights to satisfy my hunger, and I would love to fight Junior Witter.”

Rated as “the best-kept secret” in the light-welterweight division and called Mr Avoided, Olusegun – now living in Finchley – already held victories over both the current Commonwealth champions in the two weight classes above him.

He had stopped light-middleweight Bradley Pryce in four rounds and knocked out welterweight Ali Nuumbembe in six.

As a customer of Sugar Ray’s we wish him all the best tonight.

"Mighty" Kevin Mitchell

Future World champion Kevin Mitchell popped down yesterday, he is back in the gym after his illness that forced him to pull out of his planned fight last week. As bad luck would have it illness also forced Nicky Cook out of his fight and Viny sustained an injury that forced him to also postpone his fight.

Kevin is hoping for his World Title shot next year. Sugar Ray’s can’t wait for that one!
