Manny Pacquiao V Juan Manuel Marquez

Manny Pacquiao has already beaten two Mexican stars. Juan Manuel Marquez promised he won’t be the third in their rematch for March 15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas — nearly four years after their first fight ended in a 12-round draw.

Since then, Marquez won the WBC super featherweight crown, which will be on the line in March, and Pacquiao earned the nickname “The Mexican Killer” after knocking out Erik Morales twice and beating Marco Antonio Barrera.

In their last meeting Marquez was put down 3 times in the first round! but came back to draw the match on the cards and was unlucky not to get the nod. It was one of the fights of the year and there should be no reason that this one won’t get people talking again.

Ajose Olusegun retains title with win over Nigel Wright

Ajose Olusegun retains title with win over Nigel Wright. Ajose Olusegun kept his Commonwealth light-welter title with a unanimous points win over fellow southpaw Nigel Wright in Peterlee last night. The London-based Nigerian said: “It was harder than I expected. I give him respect.” Wright, who held an early lead, said: “I switched off.” As a result losing the first four rounds. After that Ajose went on to win every round, without ever really showing what he can do. Mr Avoided may find this works in his favour and a few people may be more willing to face him on this show casing, having followed Ajose’s career it certainly didn’t show what he can do. Ajose choose Wright as his voluntary defense showing he is not after an easy ride. Well done Ajose for retaining the title and thanks for the shout out at the end!
